It only needs to be fast enough to stay between the fighters and the carriers. If the enemy needed to counter this tactic, he could create a cheap escort cruiser that can hang around his battleships with a couple of flack turrets. You're certainly going to lose fighters, but they are small enough that it's not a huge sacrifice and you can get your squad back up to full size in no time. You can fly into a battle in progress, and since the number of guns-per-dollar spent is really good, you can swoop in focused on a single target and probably destroy it, then retreat while you reload, rinse and repeat. A swarm of 20 of these can be built right off the bat. It pays to have a spread of sizes and prices.įor example, you can build a cheap long range swarm fighter for about $130 that consists of a 30 degree mount, whatever gun type you want, two wings, a 1x2 battery, a 1x1 battery, and a fighter thruster. It's not just this weapon beats that weapon which beats third weapon and on and on in a loop, there is a lot more to account for like ship size, armor, shields, and speed. You basically have to realize this game is Rock Paper Scissors on steroids. I have a lot of designs from a few hours playing. Both should have 2-3 autoscouts to backcap. ![]() The player controlling fighters generally handles Fighters, Kiters and Interceptors whilst the player controlling brawlers (battleships, destroyers) generally handles Brawlers, Support ships like carriers and Destroyers. I'm pretty sure godkillers aka plasmaring racecars are called interceptors x)Īnother tip I can give is working with your teammate and filling the gaps he has, if your teammate is like woosel and enjoys playing battleships (big heavy lumbering well armored ships boasting guns galore) then you may want to invest in a well rounded fleet of fighters, kiters and autoscouts and interceptors whilst he focuses on his carriers and battleships gameplay since battleships are more effective when player controlled imo. The godkiller can't really deal with battleships all too well if the battleship is tanky enough due to energy constraints, however watching it smash 2-3 kiters at a time is terrific.
